Training

Training and education activities coordinated by the European CBRNE Centre and its partners are of highest international quality as the center hosts a wealth of relevant competencies. Leading-edge research groups, educational expertise and advanced facilities for testing and training are all located in close proximity to Umeå University. This enables truly inter-disciplinary research and training endeavors necessary for solving complex CBRNE security problems.

The current Umeå University curriculum in the security area consists of a full length undergraduate and graduate social science education programs in International Crisis and Conflict Management, offered by the Department of Political Science in cooperation with the Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB). In addition, there are several shorter courses in specialized security subjects, including courses in CBRN Science and Acute and Catastrophic Medicine. As of 2009, the European CBRNE Center is also hosting UN WMD inspector training.
